UPDATE from Hearing Help Essex
9th October 2020
Hearing Help Essex, a Chelmsford based not-for-profit charity, is pleased to announce that their services will resume to residents in the Stansted district from 10th November 2020, after having to pause their walk-in service across the District back in March due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Easing back into business after months of lockdown, the Charity has worked hard in making provision to resume its services in a safe and socially distanced environment to support the many people across Essex who have acquired hearing loss and wear NHS Hearing aids.
NHS Hearing Aid Support, the cleaning and re-tubing of hearing aids, will be offered to clients who need help. Appointments will be held at a new temporary location at The Stansted Free Church, Chapel Hill, Stansted, one day per month (this may increase depending on demand). For those who are housebound or shielding, a doorstep service will continue to be available to residents across the District. Due to social distancing measures, all appointments must be booked in advance and we cannot accept walk in’s.
The Charity also provide an Information, Advice, and Guidance Service to people across Essex living with hearing loss, and this service is currently being delivered from their Resource Centre in central Chelmsford, in person, or by phone, video call, text message, or email.
Sophie Ede, CEO, Hearing Help Essex comments:
“We are delighted to be back to doing what we do best and are hugely grateful to our Volunteers, and the team at the Stansted Free Church for making this possible. It is important for Hearing Aids to be re-tubed and cleaned every 4-6 months to ensure best efficiency and benefit to wearers”.
