How do I get Hearing Aid Batteries during Covid-19 lock-down?
The Team at Hearing Help Essex are on hand to provide information, advice, and guidance during this difficult time.
Our phone line will continue to be manned Monday-Friday from 9am – 3pm (sometimes later), and whilst not open we have a voicemail facility so please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Our text message, live chat, email, and social media channels will all be monitored daily, and we encourage you to use these wherever possible.
One of the most common questions we have received this week is ‘How can I get hearing aid batteries during the lock-down’?
The answer to this question varies depending on which hospital issued your hearing aid, and which area you live in.

We would advise all NHS Hearing Aid patients to contact their Audiology department in the first instance as they may be able to post some batteries to you, OR if you are in the position to do so, please do consider purchasing a supply online as this will enable the NHS Audiology departments to focus their resources on those who do not have internet access or resources to purchase themselves.

If you do decide to order online, PLEASE check what size battery your Hearing Aid needs as there are several different sizes of battery.
If you obtained your hearing aids privately, please contact the Audiologist who issued your hearing aids to you.
We estimate that over 300,000 hearing aid users live in the County of Essex  so  we are doing all we can not just to support you during this difficult time, but also to try and relieve the number of calls and requests our Audiology Teams are taking.
If you have any questions, or need contact details for your Audiology department please do not hesitate to contact us.

We from stevenage off course can’t get from lister hospital Hertfordshire

Hello Margaret. You need to contact your Audiology department directly. If this is at Lister Hospital, the contact details are: 01438 284 055 or email they are offering a postal service at the moment.

If you cannot get them from your usual source Boots do sell them. They also have an on line sight which sells them.

My busband is deaf in both ears and is running out of batteries .

As an Essex based Chairty we are only in touch with our local NHS providers in Essex, but would advise you to contact Scrivens direct. Their contact details are:
